Following a delicious country style morning tea in the barn at Picardy, it was time to explore the romantic French inspired garden which surrounded a delightful rammed earth house.

Abundant old fashioned, perfumed roses festooned arbours and paintbox beds with under plantings of spring perennials such as foxgloves, linaria, poppies, aquilegia and iris.

Beyond the house were colourful wildflower meadows, a vegetable garden, superbly trimmed olive hedging, a dovecote and vineyard all set against the rural backdrop of rolling Gippsland hills.
