Danielle was introduced and welcomed by Kate.

Danielle provided a very informative and interesting talk on the Boroondara Libraries including the huge variety of resources now available.

Apart from the traditional resources such as books and magazines, Danielle described the electronic resources accessible from home via the new library application. She pointed out the wide variety of less traditional resources available at the libraries including games and equipment such as gardening tools and induction stove tops.

Book groups and book chat sessions are also organised. There are gardening reading lists available as well as family and local history resources and advice. While the core gardening collection of books can be found at 635.9, other gardening related resources can be found in areas such as cooking, architecture and children’s picture books.

Danielle provided some tips on searching online and encouraged members to seek help from the librarians to search and find resources of interest. Danielle concluded with pointing out some additional gardening resources such as those on City of Boroondara’s sustainability website, the Seed Libraries listed on Public Libraries Victoria and  the digitised collection of the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria.
