James Wall from Garden World
Thursday, 9 February, 2023

James Wall from Garden World Nursery entertained Club members with amusing anecdotes and informative tips from his long association with the nursery industry.

He reflected on his youthful recollections of traditional seedling production by hand and commented on the changing cycles in plant trends – away from bedding plants and succulents during drought, to the current popularity of indoor plants.

On a display table James showcased several garden worthy plants such as the costly Thai Constellation monstera, coneflowers, allium, abelia, angelonia, hibiscus, silverdust cineraria and agastache, noting that plant breeding can take up to 7 years to improve varieties.
