On Thursday 9thDecember we went on our Christmas outing to Kyneton. We went straight to historic ‘Bringalbit’ where we were greeted with the most amazing morning tea!!! The dining room table was groaning under the weight of fresh slices and cakes!!!! After eating our fill, we spent an hour and a half exploring the beautiful gardens and buildings. The land was first settled in 1858 and the homestead started out in 1870 as a woolshed for shearing sheep. It was converted into the 40 square house in 1895, built from stone quarried on the property. The large ornamental lake was made in the 1890’s and has a small island.
Just as we left, the cool change arrived with very heavy rain – very good timing indeed! We headed to our Christmas Lunch at the Kyneton Hotel. A quick visit to the Kyneton gardens before heading home.
